  • Our founding partner, Dr. Mohamed Karbal served as the expert legal witness on Libyan law on the team of counsel of Abdul Hakim Belhadja’s rendition case which resulted in a settlement in favour of Mr. Belhadj in 2018.
  • Dr. Karbal also served as a Libyan law expert before the High Court of Justice, Queen’s Bench Division in the case of Habtom Tedros against the British Ministry of Defense, the Home Office, and other government entities.

  • Successfully acted as legal witness for plaintiff in the case Belhaj and another V. Straw and Others;
  • Served as a legal expert/witness on behalf of Man-Made River Authority (State of Libya) and State of Libya in the Tekfen-TML Joint Venture (Republic of Turkey), Tekfen ?n?aat ve Tesisat A.?. (Republic of Turkey), and TML ?n?aat A.?. (Republic of Turkey) versus Man-Made River Authority (State of Libya) and State of Libya.  The dispute resulted from a contract to construct Phase III of the Great Man-Made River Project in Libya. 
  • Provided legal opinion on case involving investments in oil refinery in Ras Lanuf, Libya as part of a joint venture with the National Oil Company. 
  • Multiple cases involving bilateral investment treaty disputes before the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, France and Geneva, Switzerland where the value of each case exceeded USD 300 million;
