Our lawyers advise and represent international clients in arbitration cases relating to Libyan law and the laws of different jurisdictions in the Middle East and North Africa at international arbitration centers across the globe.

Arbitration Experience

We have successfully represented clients before arbitration centers on highly technical matters such as construction disputes. Our most notable experience includes:

  • Representing an Australian multinational construction company in construction arbitration cases concerning contract claims valued greater than USD 30 million involving (i) delays in performance, (ii) acceleration claims, and (iii) changes to work order.
  • Representing clients before international arbitration panels, including the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), Abu Dhabi Commercial Conciliation & Arbitration Centre (ADCCA) and the Dubai International Arbitration Centre (DIAC).

Our managing partner, Dr. Mohamed Karbal served as a sole arbitrator in construction claim before Abu Dhabi Commercial Conciliation & Arbitration Center (ADCCA).

Expert Legal opinion

For litigation and arbitration disputes in different jurisdictions, we offer expert legal opinions on the laws of Libya. Our founding partner, Dr. Mohamed Karbal, frequently serves as an expert legal witness, and has served on several high profile cases involving Libya law before western courts and arbitration centers, including:

  • Belhadj and another V. Straw and Others;
  • multiple cases involving bilateral investment treaty disputes before the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, France and Geneva, Switzerland where the value of each case exceeded USD 300 million;
  • A case involving maritime law before the U.S District Court of the Southern District of New York.
